Jiří Šťastný se narodil v roce 1968 na jihovýchodě Čech v Havlíčkově Brodě. Studoval pod vedením známých ukrajinských a ruských malířů Romana Zuzuka, Vladimíra Bogdanova, Eduarda Bělského a Tarase Plishche. Jiřího oblíbené techniky jsou olej na plátně, kombinované techniky a akvarel. Měl četné výstavy v Praze, první z nich v roce 1995. Ve spolupráci s přáteli otevřel galerii v Praze na Malé Straně v roce 2003.
Jiri Stastny was born in 1968 in the south-eastern Bohemian town of Havlickuv Brod. He studied under the tutorage of notable Ukrainian and Russian artists including Roman Zuzuk, Vladimir Bogdanov, Eduard Belskij and Taras Plishch. Jiri's favoured techniques include oil on canvas, combined techniques and ink print on watercolour paper. He has had numerous exhibitions in Prague, the first of which took place in 1995. Jiri opened Gallery in the Malá Strana district of Prague in March 2003.
